A drama is set to unfold in Tanzania after Ghanaian winger Bernard Morrison completed a transfer from Young Africans to rivals Simba SC.

Morrison in the early hours of Saturday completed a switch from Young Africans to Simba on a 3-year-deal for an undisclosed fee.

Just hours after the move, Young Africans have released a press statement stating emphatically that Bernard Morrison who joined the club earlier this year on a 2-year-deal is still their player.

Bernard Morisson rebelled against Young Africans before completing a controversial switch to Simba. He stormed off the pitch in anger and walked straight to dressing room after he was substituted in a defeat to bitter rivals and current club Simba SC.

Despite being under contract with Young Africans, the Ghanaian forward after the unfortunate incident dramatically announced the end of his contract with the club.

He also suffered salary deduction for flouting the club’s directive in June.

Recently, he was arrested for allegedly possessing drugs. An incident the player described as a ploy by the people of Yanga to have his name in the news for the wrong reasons.

“The management of the Yanga Club has seen what is happening on social media and has sparked outrage among football fans in the country,”

“The leadership is closely monitoring the issue and if proven and severe and exemplary action will be taken against all parties involved.

“In addition, the leadership wants members and supporters of Yanga to remain calm as player Bernard Morrison is contracting with our club until 2022 and the case between him and the club is still in the hands of the Tanzania Football Federation (TFF) and on Monday continues to be heard.” the statement reads.
