Posted by The maiden edition of the Division One League Super Cup will kickoff on Wednesday, October 13, 2021 at the Madina Astro Turf in Accra, with eight teams battling for honor.
The competition was specially created for the best performing clubs in the Division One League, that is the winners of each zone, second placed teams in each zone and two of the third best placed teams at the end of every season.
It was also created to give Division One clubs more games outside the League and as well serve as a preparatory ground for the clubs ahead of a new season.
The main edition will be contested by the three newly promoted Premier League sides; Real Tamale United (RTU), Bibiani Gold Stars and Accra Lions.
They’ll be joined by Tano Bofoakwa, Skyy FC, Tema Youth, Berekum Arsenals and FC Samartex 1996.
There will be an opening ceremony on Wednesday before Zone Two winners Bibiani Gold Stars face Skyy FC in the opening match of the tournament at 9am. The other Group A game is between Tano Bofoakwa and Tema Youth SC at 3pm.
In Group B Accra Lions will lock horns with Samartex 1996 in the first group game on Thursday morning, while RTU take on Berekum Arsenals later in the day.
The Group stage of the tournament will end on Monday, October 18 while the Semi finals take place on Wednesday, October 20, 2021.
The final of the Division One League Super Cup will be played on Saturday, October 23, 2021.
