Ghana’s center-back Danie Amartey has left recently demoted Leicester City after eight (8) seasons following the expiration of his contract, the club has announced.
“Leicester City confirms the departure of seven senior professionals upon the expiration of their contracts in June,” part of the statement read.
“Youri Tielemans and Çağlar Söyüncü among the players to leave King Power Stadium.”
“Daniel Amartey, Nampalys Mendy, Ryan Bertrand, Ayoze Pérez and Tetê will also leave the Football Club,” the statement added.

Daniel Amartey joined Leicester City in January 2016 on a four-and-a-half-year contract for a fee around the region of up to £6 million. In his first season, Amartey featured five times as Leicester City won the Premier League title.
Amartey from the 2016/17 season became a regular for Leicester City. But his development at the club was hampered in October 2018 when he broke his ankle in a game against West Ham United, ruling him out for for nearly a year.
The 28-year old returned to the team in September 2020 and played an integral role in the team’s FA Cup and Community Shield success.
Amartey in his seven years and eight seasons stay made 145 appearances in all competitions, with 106 of those appearances coming in the Premier League. He scored 3 goals in his 145 appearances.
Per reports, Daniel Amartey who has made over 50 appearances for the Ghana national team is likely to sign for Turkish giants Besiktas ahead of the 2023/24 season.
