Cuban boxer Robeisy Ramirez defeated Ghanaian boxer Isaac Dogbey to win the WBO Featherweight world title at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Tulsa in Oklahoma.
The 12 rounds world championship bout went the full distance. Ramirez came out victorious by unanimous decision, flooring Dogboe in the final round along the way. The scores were 117-110, 118-109 and 119-108.
Dogboe fell to 24-3 (15KOs) with the loss, his first since moving up to featherweight. The Ghanaian after losing twice to Emmanuel Navarrete in the WBO junior-featherweight title fight had won his last three fights and was hoping to make it 4.
However, he fell short to two time Olympic gold medalist Robeisy Ramirez, despite having a strong start to the fight which took place in the early hours of Sunday, April 2.
Dogbey is yet to recapture the magic that came with his brief yet explosive WBO junior featherweight title run.
