Confirmed clubs for 2023/24 Access Bank Division One League

Forty-seven (47) clubs have been confirmed for the 2023/24 Access Bank Division One League following the withdrawal of West African Football Academy (WAFA) from Zone Two.

These 47 Clubs are put into three Zones with Zone One having eight clubs each in Zone One A and Zone One B.

Thirty two clubs make up Zone Two and Zone Three (16 clubs each) as the top teams from each Zone at the end of the season qualifies for the betPawa Premier League.

Paga Afeni FC/Victory Club Warriors, Wa Power SC, Northern City FC, Techiman Liberty, PAC Academy, Venomous Vipers, Rospak SC, Still Believe FC, Okwahu United and Home Stars FC will feature in the league after securing promotion from their respective regional leagues

Tamale City, King Faisal and Kotoku Royals will compete in the second tier league after suffering demotion from the betPawa Premier League.

Meanwhile, the Ghana Football Association has arrived at the format to replace WAFA in Zone two.

Per a statement from the Ghana FA, there shall be a play-off between three second placed clubs in the three Regional Second Division Leagues in Zone 2, with the winner replacing WAFA in next season’s Zone Two League.

The three second placed in the three Regional Second Division Leagues in Zone 2 are; Mahala Football Academy from Ashanti Region, Team Move FC from Western Region and Young Red Bull FC of Central Region.

The three teams will be involved in a three way league, with the winner replacing WAFA in the Division One Zone 2 League.

The draw for the playoffs, venue and dates will be communicated in the coming days.
