Greater Accra Regional Football Association (GARFA) President, Samuel Aboabire has disclosed that the commencement date for the 2022/23 Division Two League has been postponed.
Per a calendar released by the Ghana Football Association (GFA) last month, the 2022/23 GARFA Division Two League was scheduled to begin on Friday, October 28, 2022.
However, GARFA Chairman Samuel Aboabire has disclosed that the league won’t start this weekend. The decision was made after the Ghana FA held a meeting with the various FA Chairmen.
“The league will not start on the 28th, GFA held a meeting with the RFA chairmen and stated that they want to synchronize the league, commencement date, and other things,” he said on Happy FM as quoted by Footballghana.com
“They made it known that from 10th December to 10th January that period each of the region should be able to start their league. This is the date we will be using,” he added.
Despite the change, the GARFA Division Two league and the other Regional Division Two Leagues are expected to be completed by June 30, 2023 to ensure a proper execution of the calendar for next season.
