Former Dreams FC midfielder Cletus Nombil made his official debut for Petrzalka 1898 in the opening game of the 2023/24 Slovakia 2. Liga on Saturday.

Cletus Nombil was announced as a new signing of the Bratislava-based side earlier this week, arriving at the club as a free agent and on an undisclosed contract.
The Ghanaian before being announced as new player for the club had featured in preseason games, providing an assist in the final preseason game against Dukla Banska Bystrica last weekend.
On Saturday in the opening game of the new league season, Cletus made his official debut for Petrzalka 1898, wearing his desired jersey number, 19.

The 22-year old lasted the entire duration and was fantastic at the center of the pitch, giving the defense proper cover and connecting the defense with the midfield.
Cletus Nombil’s performance had an effect on the game as Petrzalka 1898 defeated Pohronie 2-0 at the fully packed Stadium FC Petržalka 1898, courtesy goals in either half from Patrick Šurnovsky and Martin Privrel.
In discussion with MahamaShaibu.com after the game, the former Sparta Prague and Hapoel Jerusalem midfielder shared his joy following his return to the pitch after being away for more than a year.
“Been great feeling coming back to the game after a long break and playing 90 mins..it wasn’t that easy but most important we won the game and we look forward to having a great season…”

Petrzalka will return to action on Sunday, August 6 against bitterest rivals Slovan Bratislava B, where they’ll be hoping to build on Saturday’s result.
