Ghanaian coach CK Akonnor has insisted that he’s the right man to lead Ghana to glory despite having mixed results in his first two games as Black Stars manager.
CK Akonnor, who was named Black Stars manager in January suffered a 3-0 defeat to Mali in his first game as manager, but redeemed himself with a 5-1 thrashing of Asian champions Qatar.
Despite the mixed results, a lot of Ghanaians are left questioning whether CK Akonnor is the right man to lead Ghana to glory.
Speaking in an interview with Adom TV, the former Asante Kotoko gaffer answered those questions, insisting he’s the right man for the job.
“I was a bit worried because I did not expect that results,” the former Kotoko boss told Adom TV.
“This is my first game as the Black Stars coach and it did not go as I was expecting it but all is not lost. We will sit down and analyse the game and see where we fell short but I don’t think judging me with just a game will be fair.
“I have worked at the highest level and I am the right person for the Black Stars coaching job because I believe in myself and in my qualities as a coach.
“I will make sure this will not happen again moving forward,” he added.
CK Akonnor’s next test as Black Stars manager will come in November when Ghana play Sudan in the 2022 African Cup of Nations qualifiers.
