Ghanaian left-back Baba Rahman has been retained by Chelsea Football club for the 2023/24 football season, the club has confirmed.
Baba Rahman joined Chelsea in the summer of 2015 on a 5-year contract from Augsburg. The left-back was tipped by connoisseurs of the game to make a great impact at club.
However his career at the club was plagued by injuries which began when he ruptured his cruciate ligament at the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations.
Baba since arriving at Chelsea has featured in only 23 games for the team, with his last appearance coming in the 2015/16 season. He has since then been loaned successively at Schalke, Reims, Real Mallorca, PAOK and most recently Reading.
Despite the lack of minutes at Chelsea, Baba Rahman has been retained by the club for the 2023/24 football season. Nevertheless, it remains unclear whether he will be kept at the club for the upcoming season or will once again be loaned out.

The Ghanaian who’s currently nursing an injury he suffered earlier this year at Reading is hoping to recuperate from the injury in-time with the thoughts of trying to impress new boss Mauricio Pochettino.
Baba Rahman’s contract at Chelsea ends at the end of the 2023/24 football season.
Meanwhile, Tiemoue Bakayoko has left the London club following the expiration of his contract.
