Former France international Marcel Desailly believes it is time for Crystal Palace and Ghana forward Jordan Ayew to step up and move to a club like Chelsea.

Jordan Ayew has been exceptional for Crystal Palace this season, his astounding performances week in and week out has earned him plaudits across the world.

Ayew is the top scorer of Crystal Palace this campaign with 9 goals in 30 appearance.

Marcel Desailly who was born in Ghana but featured for France and was part of the French team that won the World Cup in 1998 and Euros in 2004 praised the Ghanaian forward for his consistency and advised him to step up by moving to a club like Chelsea.

“It’s time for him [to step up],” Desailly, who spent six years at Chelsea between 1998 and 2004, told FootballmadeinGhana.

“He’s 28 years old now and he has reached a very high level, as well as being quite consistent in his performances.

“We need him to have more hunger. We want him to become a killer.

“You can see in his face that he is not really a killer, but he is showing great ability, and being at Chelsea can bring him to the level that we all know that he can get to because he is a very good player,” he added.

Jordan Ayew’s amazing form has seen him involved in almost 40% of Crystal Palace’s goals this season. Palace currently sit 10th on the English premier league table.

His goal against Bournemouth few days ago made him Ghana’s highest scorer in Premier League history with 25 goals, overtaking Anthony Yeboah who has 24.
