The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has announced the postponement of the draw for the 2023 TotalEnergies African Nations Championship (CHAN).
The draw was initially scheduled to take place on Friday, 29 April 2022 but a statement from CAF has announced that the draw has been postponed indefinitely, without explaining the reasons for their decision.
“The TotalEnergies CHAN Algeria 2023 qualification draw initially scheduled for Friday, 29 April 2022 has been postponed,” a statement on CAF’s website revealed.
“CAF will communicate new dates in due course. We apologize for any inconvenience caused,” the statement added.
CHAN is a biennial competition created for players who are playing in their country’s own domestic league. The next edition is scheduled to take place in Algeria from January 8 to 31, 2023.
The previous edition was played in Cameroon in 2020 and was won by Morocco.
