CAF celebrates Junior Manuel Agogo for his heroics at the 2008 AFCON

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has paid tribute to the late Ghanaian forward, Manuel “Junior” Agogo for his heroics at the 2008 African Cup of Nations (AFCON).

Agogo represented Ghana between 2006 and 2009, he was an integral member the team that secured bronze for Ghana at the 2008 AFCON.

The former Nottingham forest striker scored three times for Ghana at the tourney, his three goals came against Namibia in the second group game, Nigeria in the quarter final and Côte d’Ivoire in the 3rd and 4th place game.

Junior Agogo in total played 27 games for Ghana, scoring 12 goals.

Agogo died in London on 22 August 2019 after suffering from stroke, aged 40.
