Ghanaian heavyweight boxer, Richard Nii Lartey Harrison has boldly challenged compatriot Braimah Isaac Kamoko, popularly known as Bukom Banku to a fight.
Speaking in an interview with Enoch Kofi Adadevoh on KFM TV in a show dubbed “Life of a heavyweight boxer”, Richard Lartey was quizzed if he could like to fight Bukom Banku.
The promising heavyweight boxer emphatically stated that he has called Bukom Banku out on a number of occasions, but Bukom Banku is unwilling to fight him.
“Thank you very much for this question. Wayback in 2017 as I came down from Switzerland, I challenged Bukom Banku and I put on the heading the bluff must stop in GH”, he told Enoch Kofi Adedavoh on KFM TV.
“When you go to YouTube and write Richard Lartey the bluff must stop in GH. You’ll see more of that challenges we had. He was not willing to fight me. Because he knows”.
“He knows if he tries the son of the Eagle, definitely he will go down”, he added.
Richard Lartey dared Bukom Banku to come out if he feels he can challenge him.
“There’s no way he’s going to answer that call”.
“He’s a friend, if he dares try he should come out”.
Lartey however believes there’s no way he can lose a fight to Bukom Banku considering the quality trainers he has.
“That’s boxing for you, we got all what it takes to do boxing and with my trainers behind, there’s no way Bukom Banku can walk over me”.
“So I want to tell him, Bukom Banku cannot stand me. If he knows, he should big up his weight and come, he added.
The heavyweight Boxer later in the interview called on the government to come to the aid of the sport that is sinking and has received less attention in recent years.
Richard Lartey Harrison currently has 14 wins in his 16 career fights, eleven (11) were by knockout outs. He last fought in April 2019 when he lost to British boxer Daniel Dubois.
Richard Lartey has as well in the past expressed his desire to take on Bastie Samir who stopped Braimah Kamoko (Bukom Banku) in round 7 late 2017, handing him his only defeat in his boxing career.
Lartey currently holds the WBO Africa Heavyweight title.
