Empem Dacosta has expressed his disappointed following the termination of his contract.
Earlier today, Asante Kotoko announced that the club has mutually agreed to terminate the contract of center-back Empem Dacosta.
Dacosta joined Asante Kotoko in July 2019 and instantly became a regular under coach Kjetil Zachariassen.
However, Da Costa lost his position when Maxwell Konadu arrived at the club, featuring in just 3 league games. The center-back was placed on the transfer market and was on the verge of joining ‘money-bags’ Legon Cities, but the move hit snag at the last minute.
“I’m not perturbed by Kotoko’s decision to terminate my contract because there are many who sought for this opportunity I had, I will focus on what is ahead of me,” he told Kumasi FM.
“I have always loved the club and I never disappointed anytime I was called to duty. I will never give up, this is my profession and I believe there are many opportunities elsewhere,”
“I want to emphasize that, my contract was not terminated on performance basis, the records are there to prove it but I believe it is the will of God, someday the truth will be revealed,”
“I thank all the fans for the support they gave me,” he ended.
