BREAKING NEWS: Hearts of Oak’s “Captain fantastic” Mohammed Fatawu pens new contract with the club

Ghana Premier League holders, Accra Hearts of Oak have announced that skipper Mohammed Fatawu has signed a new contract with the club.

In a statement on the club’s official Twitter handle, the team divulged that Mohammed Fatawu has agreed to stay at the club for another two years

“The Management of Accra Hearts of Oak is delighted to announce that our first team captain, Fatawu Mohammed has signed a 2-year contract extension at the club which will run till 2023,” the tweet revealed.

Mohammed Fatawu joined Hearts of Oak in 2013 from Real Tamale United (RTU) and is currently the longest serving player of the club.

Fatawu, who’s regarded as one of the best right backs in the Ghana Premier League currently was named skipper of Hearts of Oak in 2018 following the departure of Inusah Musah.

Last season, he led Hearts of Oak to the double, winning the Premier League title for the first time since 2009 and the MTN FA Cup.
