Ghana’s senior national team, the Black Stars will face 2023 Concacaf Gold Cup champions Mexico in a friendly encounter in the United States on Saturday, October 14, 2023, a statement on the Ghana FA’s website has revealed.
“The Ghana Football Association has signed a contract with the Federación Mexicana de Fútbol (FMF) and Soccer United Marketing (SUM) for an International friendly against 2023 Concacaf Gold Cup champions Mexico in the United States as part of the 20th anniversary of the MexTour,” part of the statement read.
The game will be played on Saturday, October 14, 2023 at a venue yet to be announced venue in the United States of America.
The International friendly game forms part of Ghana’s preparations 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers which kicks off in November and the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in January next year in Cote D’Ivoire.

Ghana and Mexico have met on three occasions, with Mexico winning all three games by an aggregate scoreline of 4-1.
The Black Stars after playing Mexico will play USA on Tuesday, October 17 at the GEODIS Park in Nashville.

Ghana and USA have met four times in their history, the series is perfectly split with each side collecting two wins with matching 2-1 score lines.
The Black Stars’ two victories against the USA have come in the World Cup, knocking them out in the 2006 and 2010 editions, while the USA snatched a win in the opening group game of the 2014 World Cup in Brazil and also in a friendly game in July 2017.
