Black Starlets intensify preparations for 4-nation tournament and WAFU Championship with win against Nania FC in friendly encounter

The Black Starlets continued preparations for the GFA/UEFA Assist – 4 Nation tournament and the WAFU Zone B U-17 Cup of Nations with a friendly encounter against Division One side Nania FC at the Accra Sports Stadium earlier today.

The friendly game was arranged to ensure that the team is in good shape for the two competitions in June.

Starlets won the game 2-0, courtesy second half goals from Douglas Owusu and Charles Dodzi.

The 2-0 victory was the team’s 4th victory from 5 friendly games in recent weeks, beating Tudu Mighty Jets 4-0, Accra City Stars 2-1, Kwaebibirem FC 4-0 and drawing 1-1 with Asokwa Deportivo.

The Black Starlets have been preparing for the GFA/UEFA Assist – 4 Nation tournament and the WAFU Zone B U-17 Cup of Nations at the Ghanaman Centre of Excellence for months now under the tutelage of Samuel Fabin.

Ghana will host Togo, Benin and a yet to be named team from Europe in the GFA/UEFA Assist – 4 Nation tournament in Cape Coast in June.

For the WAFU Zone B U-17 Cup of Nations, the Black Starlets are drawn in Group A with bitterest rivals Nigeria and Togo.

The competition which serves as qualifiers for the U-17 African Cup of Nations (AFCON) will be staged at the Cape Coast Stadium in the Central Region from Saturday June 11 to Friday June 24, 2022.
