Black Starlets in Serbia for the UEFA under-16 youth development tournament

Ghana’s Male U-17 team, the Black Starlets have landed in Serbia for the UEFA under-16 youth development tournament.

The Black Starlets landed in the European country with a squad of 24 players and a technical team headed by Coach Karim Zito, and his Assistant Laryea Kingston.

Ghana at the mini tournament which will be played from Thursday, April 13 to Tuesday, April 18, 2023 will come up against host nation Serbia, Switzerland and Spain.

The Black Starlets will first begin their campaign against Serbia on Thursday, April 13, before playing Spain on Saturday, April 15 and then Switzerland on April 18.

The UEFA under-16 youth development tournament was introduced in 2012 to help introduce young players to international football and smooth the pathway into the senior game.

The tournament has in the past provided the platform for the likes of Erling Haaland, Matthijs De Ligt, Phil Foden, Gavi, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and so to hone their talents.
