Black Starlets brush Serbia aside in opener for UEFA under-16 youth development tournament

Ghana’s Black Starlets (Male U-17 team) defeated host nation Serbia 4-0 in the opening game of the UEFA under-16 youth development tournament.

The Black Starlets had a fast start to the game and opened the scoring after just 3 minutes through Benjamin Tsivano from a spot-kick.

Ghana extended their lead in the 13th minute after a blistering counter attack, Debrah Bossman set up Benjamin Tsivano to tap the ball into an empty net, 2-0.

Four minutes later, Benjamin Tsivano grabbed his hat-trick and his team’s 3rd. The youngster made no mistake after he was set through on goal by Asumadu Ramsey with a beautiful pass.

Heading into the break, Ghana compounded the wounds of the Serbia team with a fourth goal. ‪Adjetey Nii Adjei Theophilus smashed in a free-kick from distance.

The second half of the game produced no goals, Ghana controlled the half and created some good chances but failed to take them.

The Black Starlets will return to action on Saturday, April 15 against Spain. The game is scheduled to kickoff at 12:30 GMT.
