Ghana’s National Beach Soccer Team, the Black Sharks will miss out on the Africa Beach Soccer Cup of Nations after falling in the hands of Egypt.
The Black Sharks lost 7-5 to the Sand Pharaohs earlier today in Cairo, failing to protect their 6-5 victory against the Egyptians in the first leg of the qualifiers two weeks ago in Accra.
The result meant that the Black Sharks suffer a 12-11 aggregate defeat, ruling them out of the Beach Soccer Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) to take place in Mozambique from October, 21 to 30, 2022.
This will be the third consecutive time that the Black Sharks will miss the Beach Soccer AFCON. Ghana failed to qualify for the 2018 edition in Egypt and the 2021 edition in Senegal.
Despite the disappointment, the Black Sharks gave a good account of themselves in the two games against the experience Egyptian team.
The Ghana Football Association (GFA) is expected to continue to support the team as they prepare for future competitions.
