Skipper of the Black Satellites (U-20), Daniel Afriyie has debunked reports of row with management.

News swirling around in the local media indicates that Daniel Afriyie had a row with the management of the Black Satellites prior to the the semifinals of the WAFU Zone B U-20 championship against Niger.

The reports also indicated that the Hearts of Oak forward was relegated to the Bench and played no part in the victory against Niger due to the row.

However, the player in an interview with FootballMadeInGhana.com has debunked those claims, stating that he was dropped only for tactical reasons.

“It’s not true. If you want to verify, call the leader of delegation and ask him. Nothing has happened between me and management. It was a tactical decision from the coaches. We actually discussed that before the game,” Afriyie said.

Ghana after a scoreless game against Niger at the Stade de Gaules in Benin emerged victorious on penalties, 5-3.

The victory earned Ghana a place in the WAFU final and a place at the Africa Youth Championship to be staged in Mauritania next year.

The Black Satellites will play neighbors Burkina Faso in the final of the WAFU tournament on Saturday. Daniel Afriyie is expected to lead the side for the game.
