Black Princesses suffer heavy defeat in friendly encounter against France

Ghana’s female U-20 team, the Black Princesses suffered a 4-0 defeat to their French counterparts in a friendly encounter at the Complexe Sportif a Clairefontaire -en- Yvelines in Paris.

The French team scored two goals in either half to humble the Black Princesses. Vicki Becho scored two goals in the first half, before Esther Mbakem-Niaro and Laurina Fazer scored in the second half to wrap up the win.

The friendly game against the European giants forms part of preparations for 2022 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup to be played in Costa Rica from Wednesday, August 10 to Sunday, August 28, 2022.

Ghana is making its 6th consecutive appearance at the competition and will hope to go past the first Round for the first time in its history.

The Black Princesses are drawn in Group D and will begin their campaign against the United States of America on Thursday, August 11 before taking on Japan on Sunday, August 14 and the Netherlands on Wednesday, August 17, 2022 respectively.
