Black Meteors boss Ibrahim Tanko hands call-up to twenty seven (27) players to begin camping for AFCON U-23 qualifiers

Head Coach of the Black Meteors (U-23) Ibrahim Tanko has handed call-up to Twenty seven players to report to camp at the Ghanaman Centre of Excellence at Prampram on Wednesday, September 7, 2022 to begin preparations for the Africa U-23 Cup of Nations.

The invited players include the likes of Daniel Afriyie, Ibrahim Danlad, Samuel Ashie Quaye, Isaac Oppong, Augustine Randolph, Suraj Seidu, Dominic Nsobila, Samuel Osei Kuffuor, Clinton Doudou, Kofi Asmah and so on.

The Black Meteors are currently on standby for the first round qualifiers which begins on September 19.

Ghana will kick start their campaign in the second round and will face the winner of the game between Mozambique and Mauritius.

Should the Black Meteors emerge victorious, they’ll advance to the final qualifying round where they’ll face the winner of Ethiopia/DR Congo vs Algeria.

The winner of the two-legged affair will qualify for the the U-23 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) to be played in Morocco next year.

Meanwhile, Six players of the victorious Black Galaxies team, namely, Augustine Randolph, Suraj Seidu, Dominic Nsobila, Samuel Osei Kuffuor, Danlad Ibrahim and Daniel Afriyie Barnieh have been excused from the first week of camping.
