Ghana local national team, the Black Galaxies will be involved in only a game at the four-nation tournament taking place in Austria.
The Black Galaxies landed in Austria on Saturday for the competition which will involve Qatar, Jamaica and Morocco.
Ghana was scheduled to kick start their campaign against Jamaica on Saturday. However, the game was cancelled due to the team’s late arrival to Austria.
The Black Galaxies will now play Qatar on Tuesday, August 23 at the Stadion Wiener Neustadt, a game Head Coach Annor Walker will use to assess his team for the Championship of African Nations (CHAN) final round qualifiers against Nigeria.
‘’We are happy in Austria, the boys are calm and the environment is very good for us to camp ahead of such an important match’’ Coach Annor Walker told ghanafa.org.
‘’We will play the main team of Qatar on Tuesday and we strongly believe that it will be a good test for the team. My players will learn a lot from that test match and it will put us in a good position for the task ahead’’ he added.
The Black Galaxies after the game against Qatar are expected to be back in Ghana on Thursday, August 26, four clear days before the first leg of the CHAN qualifier against Nigeria.
The team will move straight to Cape Coast to wrap up preparations for the match slated for Sunday, August 26, 2022 at the Cape Coast stadium.
Ghana is in hunt for a place at the CHAN tournament after missing out on the last three editions.
