Ghana’s local national team, the Black Galaxies will play giants Accra Hearts of Oak in a
friendly encounter at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday, December 11, 2022.
The Black Galaxies are currently preparing for the 2022 TotalEnergies African Nations Championship (CHAN) to be played in Algeria from Friday, January 13 to Saturday, February 4, 2023.
Head Coach of the team, Annor Walker will use the friendly game against the record MTN FA Cup winners to access his side ahead of the competition which is created for players who are playing in their country’s own domestic league.

Ghana has been pitted in Group C for the group stages of the competition alongside holders Morocco, two-time bronze winners Sudan and debutants Madagascar.
The Black Galaxies will kickoff their campaign against Madagascar on Sunday, January 15, before playing Sudan on Thursday, January 19 and Morocco on Monday, January 23.

Ghana is making a fourth appearance at the competition and hoping to win the ultimate for the first time.
The Black Galaxies who are playing in the competition for the first time since 2014 have reached the final twice (2009, 2014), losing 2-0 to DR Congo in the 2009 edition and on penalty shootouts to Libya in the 2014 edition.
