Ghana’s local national team, the Black Galaxies played a scoreless draw against the local national team of Algeria at the Nelson Mandela Stadium in Algiers.
The game was cagily contested and saw fewer chances created. Algeria had the better chances of the game but goalkeeper Ibrabim Danland and his defense were on top of their game to ensure the game ended barren.
The friendly game is the third game the Black Galaxies have been involved in since leaving Ghana a fortnight ago to wrap up preparations for the Championship of African Nations (CHAN) in Northern Africa.
Ghana last week defeated Egypt’s Under-20 side and Egyptian giants Al Ahly by 2-0 and 3-1 respectively.
The local nation team will play their final friendly game ahead of the CHAN against their Mozambique counterparts on Tuesday, January 10 in Constantine.
The CHAN will be played from Friday, January 13 to Saturday, February 4, 2023 and will see Ghana play holders Morocco, two-time bronze winners Sudan and debutants Madagascar in the Group stages.
