Black Galaxies see off Legon Cities in friendly encounter

Ghana’s local national team, the Black Galaxies defeated Legon Cities 2-0 in a friendly encounter at the Ghanaman Soccer Center in Prampram.

The Black Galaxies grabbed their first goal in the 2nd minute through Dreams FC’s Sylvester Simba, before Evans Osei Wusu of Tema Youth doubled the score in the 36th minute.

The two teams used the friendly game to prepare for their upcoming assignments. Legon Cities are preparing for the resumption of the Premier League on Monday, December 19, while the Black Galaxies are preparing for the 2022 TotalEnergies African Nations Championship (CHAN) to be played in Algeria from Friday, January 13 to Saturday, February 4, 2023.

Ghana has been pitted in Group C for the group stages of the CHAN alongside holders Morocco, two-time bronze winners Sudan and debutants Madagascar.

The Black Galaxies will kickoff their campaign against Madagascar on Sunday, January 15, before playing Sudan on Thursday, January 19 and Morocco on Monday, January 23.
