The Black Galaxies have landed in Austria for the four-nation tournament to be played between Saturday, August 20 to Friday, August 26.
The team after acquiring late visa left Ghana on Friday night and landed in the Central European country on Saturday afternoon.
In the squad for the trip are the likes of Konadu Yiadom, Mohammed Alhassan, Daniel Afriyie, Ibrabim Danlad, Abdul Razak Kasim, Iddrisu Abdulai, Denis Korsah, Umar Bashiru, Gladson Awako, Amos Acheampong, Maxwell Abbey Quaye, David Abagna and so on.
Ghana in the competition will battle with 2022 World Cup hosts Qatar, Jamaica and Morocco team at the Stadion Wiener Neustadt in Austria for the ultimate.
The Black Galaxies were scheduled to kick start their campaign against Jamaica on Saturday. However, the game was cancelled due to the team’s late arrival to Austria.
Despite the situation, the competition got underway on Saturday, with Qatar drawing 2-2 against a Morocco team heavily dominated by local players.
Ghana will kickstart their campaign against Qatar on Tuesday, August 23 before playing Morocco on Friday, August 26.
The two games forms part of preparations for the 2023 TotalEnergies African Nations Championship (CHAN) qualifiers against Nigeria.
Ghana will take on their bitterest rivals at the Cape Coast Stadium on Sunday, August 28 in the first leg, before traveling to Abuja for the second leg on Sunday, September 4th.
The winner of the tie will secure a place at the 2023 CHAN tournament to be played in Algeria next year. Ghana has failed to make the last three editions of the CHAN, losing to Burkina Faso in the last two editions.
