The National Sports Authority (NSA) earlier today confirmed the temporal closure of the Baba Yara Sports Stadium. The temporal closure of the Stadium takes effect from Monday, 17th February, 2020.
This is to enable the Youth and Sports Ministry and the National Sports Authority (NSA) have ample uninterrupted time to fix critical places of the Stadium before the celebrations of Ghana’s 63rd Independence Anniversary celebrations.
The NSA also added that the ground will totally be renovated after the Independence Anniversary celebration and the public is therefore advised to make alternative arrangements for their programmes, they would be dully notified when the stadium can host football and athletics again.
This means that Asante Kotoko and King Faisal must find new venues to host home games. King Faisal will have to do that in time before the arrival of Legon Cities for gameweek 11 fixture on Wednesday.
