Ghana Premier League holders Kumasi Asante Kotoko’s preseason trip to Turkey has been postponed indefinitely, the club has announced.
The Porcupine Warriors were scheduled to depart Ghana on Sunday, 14th August 2022 for the two-week preseason trip in Turkey. However, the trip is currently in limbo and has been postponed indefinitely due to the visa issues.
“Our planned trip to Turkey for the second phase of our pre-season which was originally scheduled for the 14th of August, 2022 has been postponed due to visa processing delays. A new date will be communicated soon,” the club said in a short statement.

Following the postponement, the Porcupine Warriors who are currently in Accra will continue their preparations for the new season in the capital. The team is scheduled to play Division Two side Panthers FC in a preseason friendly this morning at the Ajax Legon Park .
Asante Kotoko will officially begin the new season against rivals Hearts of Oak in the Super Cup on Sunday, September 4 at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.
The Porcupine Warriors will begin their Premier League title defense at home to new boys Nsoatreman between September 9-11. However, that game is expected to be postponed due to the club’s involvement in the first round of the CAF Champions League qualifiers.
