Asante Kotoko suffered a defeat to Division two Dubai-based side Al Hilal United in their first friendly game in their ongoing 14-day preseason tour in Dubai.

Head Coach Prosper Narteh Ogum handed starting roles to Razak Abalora, Christopher Nettey, Mubarik Yussif, Ismail Abdul Ganiyu, Patrick Asmah, Richard Boadu, Emmanuel Keyekeh, Fabio Gama, Dickson Afoakwa, Clinton Opoku and Joseph Amoako.
The first half of the game ended scoreless, with Asante Kotoko displaying some good football.
Just minutes into the second half, Al Hilal United broke the deadlock. Christopher Netty put the ball into his net after a miscommunication.
In the remaining minutes of the game, Asante Kotoko created some good chances but were denied by poor finishing and heroic defending as the game ended 1-0.
The Porcupine Warriors will continue to train in Dubai and involved in more friendly games as they prepare for the new season.
Asante Kotoko will commence their season with an away game against Dreams Fc in Dawu on October 31st.
