Asante Kotoko rally from behind to batter Konongo Zongo Youth in friendly encounter

Ghana Premier League holders Kumasi Asante Kotoko came from behind to beat Konongo Zongo Youth 4-1 in a friendly encounter at the Adako Jachie.

Head Coach Seydou Zerbo handed starting roles to Cameroonian shot stopper Moise Pouaty, Samuel Appiah, John Tedeku, Kwadwo Appau, Mohammed Sheriff, Emmanuel Sarkodie, Enoch Morrison, Steven Amankona, Shadrack Addo, Nicholas Mensah and Samuel Boateng.

Asante Kotoko went down in the opening minutes of the game but stepped up their performance to turn the game around before the halftime break, Samuel Boateng scored twice to make it 2-1.

At the start of the second half, Seydou Zerbo made changes to the team, bringing on Augustine Agyapong, Patrick Asmah, Maxwell Agyemang, Rocky Dwamena, Richard Boadu, Nicolas Osei Bonsu, Ernest Osei Poku, Eric Zeze and Steven Mukwala.

The Porcupine Warriors scored two more goals through Ugandan International Steven Mukwala to take the scoreline to 4-1.

The friendly game forms part of the team’s preparation for the resumption of the betPawa Premier League. The league has been suspended following an injunction.
