Giants Asante Kotoko have raided Berekum Chelsea to snatch defender, Henry Ansu and forward Kalo Ouattara.

Asante Kotoko is currently under a restructure both on and off the field after a horrendous 2022/23 season that saw the team fail to retain the Premier League title and as well make significant impact in the CAF Champions League and FA Cup.

In the course of the restructure, Dr. Prosper Narteh Ogum has been appointed as head coach, making a return to the team he managed in the 2021/22 season and won the league title with.

Prosper Narteh Ogum since being reappointed has been in the market looking for quality players to augment his team. The former WAFA coach has identified Berekum Chelsea duo, Henry Ansu and Kalo Ouattara as players who can strengthen his team.

Per reports, Asante Kotoko has reached an agreement with Berekum Chelsea for the services of the duo on permanent basis. Both players are expected to arrive in Kumasi on Monday to complete their medicals and sign their respective contracts.

Henry Ansu and Kalo Ouattara were integral members of the Chelsea team last season. Ansu made 20 appearances for the team and scored a goal, taking his league appearances for the team to 80 games in three seasons and 8 goals scored.

Ouattara on the other hand made 23 league appearances, scored 5 goals and provided an assist. The 21-year old scored 2 of his 5 goals against Asante Kotoko.

Both players are expected to wrap up their deals next week and join the rest of the team for preseason camping in Beposo.

Also, the club has reportedly agreed to sign midfielder, Michael Kyei Dwamena from West Africa Football Academy (WAFA). The 23-year old captained the team in the Access Bank Division One League last season.
