Kumasi Asante Kotoko continued their preparations for the new football season with a 4-0 victory against Division Two side Ghana Army FC.
Acting Head Coach Abdulai Gazeli handed starting roles to Frederick Asare, Augustine Agyapong, Nicholas Osei Bonsu, Mubarik Yusif, Andrew Kwadwo Appau, Emmanuel Sarkodie, Enoch Morrison, Dickson Afoakwa, Isaac Oppong, Shadrach Addo (trialist), and Steven Mukwala.
The Porcupine Warriors raced into an early lead through trialist Shadrach Addo. Youngster Isaac Oppong made it 2-0 in the 26th, before Dickson Afoakwa scored on the stroke of halftime to make it 3-0.
At the start of the second half, Abdulai Gazeli changed the entire team with the exception of Dickson Afoakwa. He brought on Goalkeeper Moise Pouaty, Samuel Appiah, Christopher Nettey, Abdul Ganiyu, Mohammed Sharif, Richard Boadu, Serge Eric Zeze, Ernest Osei Bonsu and Sarfo Taylor.
The Porcupine Warriors scored another goal in the second half through Sarfo Taylor to wrap up the win, 4-0.
The win is Asante Kotoko’s second friendly game win in recent days. The team defeated Panthers FC 4-2 on Monday.
