Asante Kotoko have announced the signing of defender, Henry Ansu and striker, Kalo Ouattara from Berekum Chelsea.
The duo join the Porcupine Warriors on a three-year contract for an undisclosed fee after a successful medical.
Henry Ansu and Kalo Ouattara were integral members of the Chelsea team last season. Ansu made 20 appearances for the team and scored a goal, taking his league appearances for the team to 80 games in three seasons and 8 goals scored.
Speaking after signing, Henry Ansu told the club’s website: “It’s a dream come true because this is a club that most players dream of as a young player, and I am happy to be one of the lucky few.”
Henry Ansu is one of the most experienced and reliable centre-backs in country’s elite league and head coach Prosper Narteh Ogum will be counting on his experience to stabilise the backline, a challenge he relishes.
“It’s a new challenge, and I know this is a club that demands more from players, but I am ready to make a mark and help the team win whatever trophy available,” he stated.
Kalo Ouattara on the other hand made 23 league appearances, scored 5 goals and provided an assist. The 21-year old scored 2 of his 5 goals against Asante Kotoko.
Speaking after his acquisition, Prosper Narteh Ogum said: “Kalo is one for the future and the present. He has all the qualities to thrive at this club and at this level, and we are happy to have him here.”
Henry Ansu and Kalo Ouattara become the club’s fourth and fifth signings in the ongoing transfer window after defender Yahaya Dawuni from Susubiribi SC, Nanabayin Amoah from Venomous Vipers and midfielder Andrews Ntim Manu on a free transfer.
The duo have already joined the rest of the playing body at the pre-season camp in Beposo.
