Ghana’s all time top scorer Asamoah Gyan has offered his support to former Ivory Coast striker, Didier Drogba in his bid to become the next the President of the Ivory Coast Football Federation.
Earlier this week, Drogba’s hopes of becoming the next president of the Ivory Coast Football Federation took a nosedive.
Didier Drogba, who is one of the three candidates who submitted their papers to stand in the polls earlier this month was disqualified following his struggle for endorsement.
The FIF’s Electoral Commission rued that the former Chelsea striker did not fulfil its long list of eligibility criteria.
His bid was rejected as two of the names he had submitted as his sponsors were ruled not to have the necessary authority to do so
Asamoah Gyan took to his Twitter handle to declare his support for Drogba and called for a fair playing ground in the Ivory Coast FA presidential elections.
Football Legends deserves a place in administration, @didierdrogba has seen it all with the National team & club teams, I am for his transition into management & supports his bid…allow fair playing ground & let the people/association decide. @CAF_Online @FIFAcom @FIFCI_tweet pic.twitter.com/UVXX1nTg4q
