Arsenal are reluctant to pay Thomas Partey’s €50m release clause.
Thomas Partey has been astounding this season for Atletico Madrid. The Ghanaian midfielder has slotted in perfectly for Rodri who departed to Manchester City last summer.
He has managed to make the Atlético midfield his own and also convince Diego Simeone that there’s no party like a Partey party.
Partey’s awe-inspiring performances has made him a priority for most European clubs, with Arsenal at the moment being the front runners to secure his signature.
The 26 year old has a €50million (£43.5m) release clause in his contract. A valuation Arsenal or any club interested in him must meet if they want to acquire his services.
According to reports, Arsenal are unwilling to pay the €50m release clause, the Gunners are however proposing a player in exchange for Thomas Partey plus €25m.
Atletico Madrid have also made it know to the Gunners that they won’t negotiate for anything less than the €50m.
Thomas Partey is currently nursing an injury as he hopes to be fit in time to face Leipzig for the Champions league Quarterfinals.
