Black Stars skipper André Ayew scooped four awards at Swansea City’s 2019/20 end of season awards.
Andre Ayew was named Swansea City Supporters’ Player of the Season, Players’ Player of the Season, Away player of the season and the Top scorer of the season in the club’s end-of-season awards for the 2019/20 campaign.
The awards were held virtually this year as the original awards event – in conjunction with the Executive Fundraising Committee and Supporters Trust – was cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic.
André Ayew, who spent the 2018/19 football season on loan with Turkish outfit Fenerbahce has been in fine form since returning to Swansea last summer.
The Black Stars skipper netted 18 goals in all competitions and provided 7 assists to help Steve Cooper’s side secure a Championship play-off spot, but unfortunately fell short against Brentford in the semifinal of the playoff, losing the encounter 3-2 on aggregate.
Ayew’s season was full of inspirational displays and memorable moments, ranging from his superb assists for Bersant Celina and Sam Surridge in a win at QPR, a late winner at Luton and a simply stunning strike to sink Brentford in the first leg of the play-off semi-final.
The 30-year-old’s astonishing efforts hasn’t gone unnoticed as he was named as the Supporters’ Player of the Season, Players’ Player of the Season, Away player of the season and the Top scorer of the season at the club’s end-of-season awards for the 2019-20 campaign.
