Ampem Darkoa Ladies dominated the Team of the tournament for the WAFU Zone B Women’s Champions League staged in Nigeria.
The Ghanaian champions won the competition after beating Nigeria’s Delta Queens 1-0 in the final, courtesy a goal scored by Ophelia Amponsah in the first half.
The win ensured that Ampem Darkoa Ladies dominated the best eleven of the competition, with five of their players making the team.
Defenders Mavis Owusu and Comfort Yeboah, midfielder Nancy Amoh, Ophelia Amponsah who was named man of the match in the final and skipper Mary Amponsah made the team.
Mary Amponsah finished the competition as top scorer with 8 goals from 4 appearances. She also won two man of the match awards and was named player of the tournament.
Other players who made the team of the tournament include; Joy Sunday of Athletico FC, and Anderline Mgbechi, Favour Amaeze, Chinaza Agoh and Mercy Omokwo of Delta Queens.

Meanwhile, Ampem Darkoa Ladies will represent Zone B in the third edition of the Women’s CAF Champions League to be played from Sunday, November 5 to Sunday, November 19, 2023 in Ivory Coast.
Other teams to compete in the Champions league are; Athlético FC d’Abidjan (hosts) from Ivory Coast, Mali’s AS Mandé, JKT Queens of Tanzania, AS FAR (holders), SC Casablanca of Morocco and Mamelodi Sundowns of South Africa.
The remaining slot will be competed for by teams in the UNIFFAC region.
