Aduana Stars sink Hearts of Oak in Dormaa

Aduana Stars defeated Hearts of Oak 2-0 at the Nana Agyemang Badu park on Wednesday afternoon to record their first win of the season.

Paa Kwesi Fabian welcomed Star man Yahaya Mohammed to the starting eleven.

Kosta Papic as well made a single change to the side the defeated Dreams 3-0 on Sunday, Manaf Umar came in for Fred Ansah Botchway.

Hearts of Oak started the game the better side and nearly took the lead in the early minutes, Raddy Ovouka made his way into the 18-yard box and tried to catch goalkeeper Joseph Addo at his near post, but the shot stopper saved his effort.

The Phobians were by far the better side in the first 30 minutes, passing the ball around beautifully but failing to test the goalkeeper.

Aduana came into the game in the final 15 minutes of the first half and started to ask questions of the Hearts of Oak defense.

The pressure finally paid off in the 41st minute, Yahaya Mohammed pounced on a deflected shot to calmly beat Richard Attah and give Aduana the lead.

Aduana Stars made it 2-0 right after the recess, Prince Acquah scored from almost 40-yards. Surely a contender for goal of the season.

Hearts of Oak stepped their game up and nearly reduced the deficit in the 62nd minute, an effort from Manaf Umar deflected off the defender on the line for a corner.

Hearts of Oak continued to push and were presented the chance to reduce the deficit in additional minutes from the spot. Raddy Ovouka stepped up only to see goalkeeper Joseph Addo save his kick. Victor Aidoo pounced on the rebound but failed to plant it home.

Minutes Later, the Phobians missed another big opportunity. Raddy Ovouka failed to put the ball at the back of an empty net after the goalkeeper made a mess of a crossing.

Referee saw enough and brought proceedings to an end. Aduana Stars beat Hearts of Oak 2-0 to pick their win of the season. Prince Acquah was named NASCO man of the match.
