The first round of games for Group B of the Division One League Super Cup took place today at the Madina Astro Turf.
The first game saw Ghana Premier League new boys Accra Lions come from a goal down to beat Samartex 1996 2-1.
Samartex broke the deadlock just 2 minutes into the game from a free kick at the edge of the box through Emmanuel Adu.
In the 17th minute, Accra Lions leveled the score through a stunner from Christopher Acheampong, before Evans Eenee scored in the 69th minute to complete the comeback and seal all three points for his side.
In the second group game, Real Tamale United (RTU) defeated Berekum Arsenal 3–2. RTU scored first in the 6th minute through Mohammed Yakubu.
Berekum Arsenal were awarded a away back into the game from the spot in the 10th minute, but they failed to convert the kick. Just a minute later, they leveled the score through Amos Yeboah from a free header.
Arsenal went ahead in the 40th minute through Amos Yeboah from another header.
In the second half, RTU demonstrated their superiority and scored two goals through Fataw Sayibu and Roland Frimpong in the 53rd and 71st minute to win the game 3-2.
The competition will continue Tomorrow. The first game will see Tema Youth take on Bibiani GoldStars, before Skyy FC play Bofoakwa Tano.
