Abdul Fatawu Safiu has taken to Twitter to drop a massive hint confirming his return to Asante Kotoko.
According to reports, the 27-year old who’s currently without a club is in negotiations with Asante Kotoko over a possible return.
Fatawu Safiu has been without a club since the expiration of his contract with Swedish fold Trollhattan, a side he joined in August 2021 after spending two seasons at Trelleborgs FF.
The highly rated forward joined Trelleborgs FF in August 2021 following impressive displays with Asante Kotoko.
Safiu joined Asante Kotoko in 2018 and was part of the team that represented the club in the 2018/19 CAF Confederations Cup. He was one of the team’s standout performers as they reached the group stages of the tournament for the first time in 11 years, scoring 3 goals in 10 games.
In the league, Safiu scored 10 goals to end up joint top goal scorer (tied with Diawisie Taylor) and help Kotoko clinch the 2019 GFA Normalization Committee Special Competition. A feat which earned him the Ghana Football Awards Home-Based player of the year.
Although nothing has been confirmed by anyone at Asante Kotoko, Fatawu has taken to Twitter to drop a hint of his return to the club.
