Abdul Fatawu Issahaku on the verge of signing for Bayern Leverkusen after securing bumper deal with Nike

Ghanaian midfielder Abdul Fatawu Issahaku has signed a bumper deal with American sportswear company Nike.

The youngster joins exceptional collection of stars on the Nike brand, the likes of Kylian Mbappe, Raheem Sterling, Marcus Rashford, Kevin De Bruyne, Eden Hazard, Nicolas Pepe, Luka Modric, Phil Foden, Van Dijk, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and many others.

The details of the deal hasn’t been revealed by both parties, but it is believed to be a lucrative one.

As part of the deal, Fatawu will receive apparels such as boots, kits etc. from the American sportswear firm at the end of every month.

The 17-year-old is expected to wear Nike boots on the pitch and will be an ambassador for Nike products off the pitch.

Abdul Fatawu Issahaku, who was named best player at the African Youth Championship that was staged in Mauritania earlier this year is currently on the wanted list of clubs in England, Austria, Netherlands, Switzerland (Geneva), Italy and Qatar.

According to a report from Joy Sports’ George Addo Jnr, Fatawu is currently in Germany and will soon be signing for German Bundesliga fold Bayern Leverkusen.

The youngster was recently handed a call-up by the technical handlers of the Black Stars for the friendly encounters against Morocco and Ivory Coast.

  1. The name of the team is “Bayer Leverkusen”, not “Bayern”. FC Bayern is a team from munich. Munich is the capital of Bavaria (german: Bayern). Bayer (=somone how comes from bavaria) is the family name of the founder of the Bayer AG. A big firm that produce Aspirin for example. The club was founded in 1904 by employees of the German pharmaceutical company Bayer AG, whose headquarters are in Leverkusen and from which the club draws its name.
