They have identified his compatriot and Real Mallorca’s Baba Iddrisu as a player with similar qualities, capable of filling his shoes.
Baba Iddrisu has a €45 million release clause and a contract that runs till 2024 with Real Mallorca.
The combative midfielder has missed just 2 of Real Mallorca’s La Liga games this season, he has featured in 31 league games, coming from the bench in just 1 of those games.
Baba’s qualities appeases Diego Simeone and he’s seen as the direct replacement for compatriot Thomas Partey.
