A possible transfer merry-go-round for two Ghanaian goalkeepers?

Football is at a standstill due to the outbreak of the novel coronavirus, but teams continue to be linked with plethora of players as they hope to strengthen their sides for when football returns to normalcy.

Two Ghanaian goalkeepers have in recent days being linked with a move out of their current clubs. Black Stars number one Richard Ofori has been linked with a move to Orlando Pirates or Mamelodi Sundowns.

Ofori has this season been excellent for current side Maritzburg United. The shot stopper has kept 10 clean sheets in 22 matches and conceded only 17 goals. A performance that has seen him been nominated for the Best player award in South Africa.

With Maritzburg United knowing they could lose their star man, the club have set their sights on another Ghanaian shot stopper in the name of Felix Annan to replace Richard Ofori just incase he moves.

According to reports, Maritzburg United are preparing an official bid to the Porcupine Warriors for the services of Felix Annan. Felix Annan, who has arguably been the best goalkeeper in the Ghana Premier League for the last 3 seasons has lost his place to Kwame Baah.

The shot stopper has also in the process lost his place in the Black Stars team and won’t hesitate to jump onto the ship if Maritzburg United comes calling. A good opportunity to rejuvenate his career.

However, chairman of Maritzburg Farook Kadodia has come out to debunk the reports, he described it as untrue and went on to say that the club haven’t spoken to Kotoko or anybody about Annan, but this rumors is one to keep an eye on.

It’ll still be interesting to see how things unfold in the coming days.
