38 of the 40 players named in Ghana’s provisional squad for the 2022 Algeria CHAN expected to report to camp today

Ghana’s local national team, the Black Galaxies will begin camping today, Sunday, November 28 at the Ghanaman Centre of Excellence in Prampram for the TotalEnergies African Nations Championship (CHAN), Algeria 2022.

Head Coach of the team, Annor Walker earlier this week handed call-up to 40 players, with players involved in the qualifiers against Benin and Nigeria dominating the squad.

The likes of Gladson Awako, Daniel Afriyie Barnieh, Ibrabim Danlad, Suraj Seidu, Jonnah Attuquaye, Augustine Randolf, Dominic Nsobila, Razak Kasim, David Abagna, Dennis Korsah and so on made the squad.

Annor Walker also handed call-up Afriyie Mezack Derrick Fordjour, Stephen Diyuo, Seidu Abubakar, Abdul Latif Anabila, Augustine Boakye, Kwame Adom Frimpong etc. who have all been fantastic for their respective clubs this season.

All the 40 players with the exception of Daniel Afriyie Barnieh and Ibrahim Danlad who are both with the Black Stars in Qatar for the World Cup are expected to report to camp on Sunday, November 27, 2022.

The 40-man squad list is expected to be curtailed to 23 players days before the commencement of the competition in Algeria.

The Black Galaxies during their camping in Prampram will test their strength in friendly games against clubs in the betPawa Premier League and clubs in the lower Divisions.

Ghana is drawn in Group C alongside holders Morocco, two-time bronze winners Sudan and debutants Madagascar for the group stages of the CHAN which kicks off on Friday, January, 13, 2023.

The Black Galaxies are making their fourth appearance at the competition and are hoping to win the ultimate for the first time after losing 2-0 to DR Congo in the final of the 2009 edition and on penalty shootouts to Libya in the final of the 2014 edition.
