Two Ghanaian players have been included in the best eleven of the Group stages of the 2023 WAFU Zone B Boys U-20 Cup of Nations currently taking place in Côte d’Ivoire.
Ghana failed to meet expectations at the competition, bowing out of the group stages after drawing 1-1 in their first game against Niger, losing 2-0 to Burkina Faso and drawing 1-1 with the hosts Côte d’Ivoire in the final group game.
In spite of the disappointment, two players from the team who are center-back, Kwame Boakye and midfielder, Collins Boah have been included in the best eleven of the group stages of the competition for their inspiring individual performances.
The Ghanaian duo are joined in the team by Moise Ogbon and Bienvenu Vigninou of Benin; Mardoché Brito, Evsard Zogbe and Oumar Konate of Côte d’Ivoire were also included.
Others in the team are Burkinabé quartet; Zakaria Tinta, Hasamadou Ouedraogo, Abdoul Ouattara and Libo Ismail Seone.

Meanwhile, Burkina Faso and Côte d’Ivoire have made it to the finals of the competition to be played on Thursday, July 20. Burkina Faso made it to the final after beating Togo 1-0, while Côte d’Ivoire defeated Benin 3-2 on penalties after a 2-2 draw.
