The Black Satellites will face host nation Côte d’Ivoire in the final group A game of the WAFU Zone B Boys U-20 Cup of Nations on Thurday, July 13 at 15:00 GMT at the Champroux Stadium.
Ghana head into the game needing nothing short of a win to progress to the semifinal of the competition. The Black Satellites had an horrendous start to the competition, throwing an early lead to draw 1-1 against Niger in the first game and losing 2-0 to Burkina Faso in the second game.
With the two results, Ghana are on the brink of facing a group stage exit in another competition. However, the team could save themselves with a win against Côte d’Ivoire later today.
Host Côte d’Ivoire as well had a poor start to the competition, losing their first game 1-0 to Burkina Faso. Nevertheless, they dumped that poor result to beat Niger 4-1 in the second group game, putting themselves in pole position to qualify.
While Ghana need to win against Ivorians and hope Niger does pick a big win against Burkina Faso in the other group game to qualify, Côte d’Ivoire need just a draw to progress to the other round.
The games are scheduled to kick off at 15:00 GMT. Ghana will face Côte d’Ivoire at the Champroux Stadium and Burkina Faso face Niger at the Classic High School Stadium.
