Nordsjaelland winger Ernest Nuamah has joined his Black Meteors teammates in Rabat, Morocco for the 2023 TotalEnergies African Cup of Nations (AFCON).
Nuamah arrives late due to his involvement with the Black Stars for 2023 AFCON qualifier against Madagascar in Antananarivo on Sunday, June 18, coming on in the 62nd minute to mark his senior debut in a barren draw.
The 19-year old has now arrived in the U23 camp as the team prepares for their opening match of the AFCON against Congo on Sunday, June 25, 2023.
Ernest Nuamah played a key role in Ghana’s qualification to the U23 AFCON in the final qualifiers against Algeria, assisting in the game in Annaba and Kumasi.
The youngster’s presence in camp will boost the morale of the team as they prepare for the opening game on Sunday. Ghana in their other group stage games will face Morocco on Tuesday, June 27 and then Guinea on Friday, June 30.
The Black Meteors are poised to sail through the Group stage to the semis as they target one of the three automatic slots to participate in the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris.
The last time Ghana participated in the Olympic Games Men’s Soccer event was in 2004 in Athens.
