2023 U-23 AFCON: Barnieh and Simba benched; Yeboah, Salim and Hafiz start: Ghana’s lineup vs Morocco

Head Coach of the Black Meteors, Ibrahim Tanko has named his outfit’s lineup for the second Group A game the TotalEnergies U-23 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) against host nation Morocco at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Rabat.

Ibrahim Tanko makes three changes to the team that defeated Congo 3-2 in the opening game on Sunday.

Asante Kotoko shot stopper Ibrahim Danlad retains his place in goal.

Aaron Essel and Edmond Arko Mensah start at right-back and left-back respectively, while Terry Yegbe and David Oppong are retained in the center-back positions.

Dominic Nsobila starts in defensive midfield position and he’s joined by Hafiz Ibrahim and Salim Adams. The duo come in for Emmanuel Essiam and Sylvester Simba.

Scorer of two goals in the first game, Emmanuel Yeboah starts upfront, ahead of skipper Daniel Afriyie Barnieh. The remaining positions are occupied by Abdul Fatawu Issahaku and Ernest Nuamah.
